About EXPED –
The EXPED story began with the personal outdoor experiences of Heidi and Andi Brun. In 1981, the Swiss adventurers lived in the northern Canadian wilderness for nine months, spending the long winter in a log cabin built with their own hands. Improvising in their everyday life with minimal resources, and the freedom this approach allowed, inspired them to get involved in the development of functional outdoor gear. The EXPED brand is the direct result of this dream-come-true adventure.

EXPED products embody the best of Swiss design and a commitment to the highest quality. From the beginning, we have tinkered, tested, and innovated to build gear that is unique, durable, and thoughtfully created – and we’ve repeatedly turned outdoor gear conventions upside down.
